Drinking in the Moonlight

I’ll be drinking in the moonlight
After a glass or after a few
The distant stars in all of heaven
Our eyes, the mirrors, to all we view

There may be no god above us
No more judgements, no last reviews
Our ashes and our possessions,
The last remains of me and you

There can be no greater meaning
If I could share this life, in truth
All of my being, all of my knowing,
I would share it all with you

Won’t you join me in the moonlight?
After a glass or after a few
Honour me for just a moment?
My only one, I’d give to you
