Evolution

 

I saw you writhing
with knuckle-clubbed fins
through the thick muck
of primordial ignorance
Fish-lipped and fat,
bloated and green,
your gaping maw spills out
gurgling bubbles
of slimy, stagnant air
blubbering and bloated,
gibbering gibberish,
smiling with slick-smug satisfaction
They say, that it takes
ten thousand hours
to become an expert;
your ten minute investment
means nothing . . .
