She revealed to me
Her forbidden love
In sight, yet out of reach
A fragrant flower so divine
The nectar warm and sweet
The knowledge of its presence
Unfolded to the heat
The breath of life within me felt
Like wisdom falling to defeat
I beg before this beauty
I worship at her feet
I surrender to this longing
My defences in retreat
I offer up my broken-love
It’s tired, but it’s still sweet
And though I will never
Know her touch at all
I long for this release
