Carl Jung

I was bashing in
the heads of bobcats
with a claw hammer

they were crawling
into a cabin
relentlessly tearing
through flimsy walls
and broken windows
George A. Romero
should have been there
he wasn’t
an actress playing my wife
not my casting choice
don’t ask me who
never saw her before
nailed the role:
bull headed
unexpectedly fragile
I woke around four
my wife was awake too;
we spoke a bit
then argued a little
I told her to forget about it
“Fuck it,” I said
“go back to sleep”
I should have given her
a hammer
