Pleather & Whiskey

a pleather chair
sheds dead office skin
synthetic black leaves scatter
swept by dry register winds
a dust bowl of aluminum oxide
scratches where vinyl wheels
wear dusty wagon trails
travelling a laminate dessert
an absent old rhythm
scrawled on a sticky note
curls in loving neglect
next to a Remington Rand
a brown cigar sacrifices
an earthy spiced aroma
mellowing a warm palate
of Irish whiskey and ice
