Stillness of the Morn

In the stillness of the morn
In the pause between each breath
In that moment of perfect silence
Between your life and death

The clarity, it comes to you
Like a servant at your door
When there is nothing left of you
There can be no longing anymore

The fleeting and the eternal
Both the silence and the roar
The calm before the fury
And the spaces between doors

A moment in that passage
Like some lost, forgotten lore
A tinkling through the hourglass
In the sands of the obscure

A release into your wisdom
With no attachments anymore
The ravens of that Norse god
Who both whisper ‘nevermore’

Let it all fall from you
Until you can feel it no more
A moment of silent freedom
In this stillness of the morn
